Undertaking and Payment Instructions
Introduction
Clear instructions during the payment process are essential for a smooth applicant experience. If you want to provide custom payment guidelines during checkout or are looking for a way to display important terms that applicants must agree to before making a payment, Collexo has built-in options to facilitate this.
Key Features
You can configure the following options in Fee Connect:
- Enable Undertaking: When this toggle is enabled, an undertaking checkbox will be displayed on the checkout page, and the applicant must check this box to proceed with the payment. A text field will appear in Fee Connect where you can enter the content of the undertaking.
By default, the field contains a light placeholder text: "I acknowledge that I have read, and understood the instructions and undertake to abide by them." If you enter custom text, it will override this default; otherwise, the placeholder text will be shown to applicants.
- Add Payment Instructions: When this toggle is enabled, a new text box will appear in Fee Connect where you can enter custom payment instructions. The content entered here will be shown to applicants as a separate section on the checkout page, helping them understand any specific guidelines before making the payment.
This field also supports HTML and inline CSS, allowing you to format the instructions with elements like bullet points, bold text, tables, or links to enhance clarity. For example, you can highlight account details, include a list of required documents, or emphasize important deadlines using basic HTML styling.
- DD/ Cash Instructions: When DD or Cash is selected as the payment mode, an additional text field appears for entering specific instructions. These instructions are shown as a tooltip when users hover over the info icon next to the selected payment mode on the checkout page. This ensures applicants are aware of the necessary steps when choosing offline payment options.
Conclusion
By leveraging the above settings in Fee Connect, institutions can ensure applicants are well-informed and aligned with the required steps before completing a payment. These features not only enhance transparency but also help minimize errors, reduce support queries, and create a smoother, more confident payment experience for applicants.
